New covers

A while ago I got to do the cover for the graphic novel adaptation of "Blue Bloods," the very popular vampire novel by Melissa de la Cruz! It's being put out by Disney/Hyperion, and the interiors are done by the mega-skilled Alina Urusov (her work is amazing, check out her website).

I also did a cover for DC's THE NATIONAL line: Madame X! I loved Amy Reeder's rendition of Madame Xanadu when it was a Vertigo series- this is a new direction for the character but I tried to do her justice.

Josie & the Pussycats

Variant cover for Life With Archie #24. This storyline take place about ten years into the future, so I did a grown-up version of the band! It was inspired in part by the 2001 Pussycats movie, and Alison Mosshart from The Kills, who wears a lot of animal print.

Sketch dump

When I got an iPhone I realized that taking crappy photos with it is easier than scanning in drawings. So my blog has been neglected and I've been posting things to Instagram/twitter (username fstaples/fionastaples). I might as well put them here, too, though! Most of these are marker sketches from drink & draw.
